Steel and mechanical testing
Testing of steel, reinforcement, welded mesh and couplers. Assess strength and deformation for the specified application.
Confirm the test method, sample requirements and applicable accreditation scope before booking.
-
BRC Weld Strength Test
Weld strength testing assesses the welded intersections of steel reinforcement mesh. Results are compared with the specified weld requirements.
-
Bolt Strength Test
Testing assesses bolt strength under the specified loading method. The bolt grade, sample requirements and acceptance criteria must be agreed before testing.
-
Charpy Impact Test
Charpy impact testing measures the energy absorbed when a notched metal specimen fractures under impact. Test temperature is specified with the result.
-
Hardness Testing
Hardness testing measures resistance to indentation using a method selected for the material. It leaves an indentation and is not a direct tensile-strength test.
-
Mechanical Coupler Tensile Test
Tensile testing assesses a mechanical reinforcement splice under axial load. Results support checks on the coupler assembly against the specified requirements.
-
PC Strand Tensile Test
Tensile testing measures the strength and elongation of prestressing strand. The required properties and method are agreed against the strand specification.
-
Rebar Bend Test
Bend testing assesses reinforcement’s ability to undergo the specified bend without unacceptable cracking. The bend conditions follow the selected method.
-
Rebar Rebend Test
Rebend testing assesses reinforcement after specified bending, ageing and reverse bending. It is not a fatigue-life test.
-
Rebar Tensile Test
Tensile testing measures reinforcement strength and elongation under axial loading. Results support assessment against the specified reinforcement requirements.
-
Welding Test / Radiographic Testing (RT)
Radiographic testing uses X-rays or gamma rays to inspect internal features in welds or components. The inspection method depends on material, geometry and access.
